SHARP has announced company’s latest Smartphone AQUOS S2 in China. The smartphone comes in two variants, Snapdragon 630 variant, and Snapdragon 660 variant. It’s available to for pre-order from JD.com and goes on sale from August 14 in China.
The major highlight of SHARP AQUOS S2 is the bezel-less display with 84.95% screen-to-body ratio. It used FFD (Free Form Display) technology to create small holes precisely in the screen for front camera and receiver.
The back panel made of a 5-surface single-piece 3D glass panel. The fingerprint sensor is located below the screen is just 3.6mm, it’s the world’s narrowest fingerprint identification module. The Sharp Aquos S2 With Snapdragon 630 SoC is the world’s first Smartphone to be driven by Snapdragon 630 processor.
In terms of specifications, the SHARP AQUOS S2 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat Operating System with 5.5-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2040 pixels. It has protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass.
The SHARP AQUOS S2 comes with the dual rear camera. It houses a 12MP rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, f/1.75 aperture, 1.4um pixel size, PDAF, with the secondary 8MP rear camera. On the front panel, it has 8MP selfie camera, 1.4um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture.
The SHARP AQUOS S2 is powered by 2.2GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 630 14nm processor with Adreno 508 GPU. It offers 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB internal storage.The other variant is powered by 2.2GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 660 14nm processor with Adreno 512 GPU. It offers 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB internal storage. Both variants support up to 128GB external storage through a microSD card.
For connectivity, AQUOS S2 includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C and Bluetooth 4.2.
The AQUOS S2 backed by 3020mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. It measures the dimensions of 141.8 x 72.04 x 7.9mm and weight of 140g.
